Heather Anderson

Heather Anderson is an artist from Tennant Creek born in Alroy Downs, she is the cousins of Lindy Brodie and Gladys Anderson. She started to paint in school at Rockhampton Downs where Gladys was working as an assistant teacher. She later joined Julalikari Arts as a painter when Alan Murn was working.

Her first influence was Lindy Brodie, her cousin. She started to paint what she used to pick it up on the road side such as wild oranges. She paints bush tuckers, landscapes, turtles, on traditional object when she used to work at Nyinkka Nyunyu. She is also a painter for rain dreaming (ngapa) and women ceremony (yawulyu).

Otherwise, Heather enjoys to go to AIM church and she is a carer for her disabled sister, Karen.
