Suzanne Atkinson is a proud Yorta-Yorta woman currently living in Mooroopna, Victoria.
Happily married to Andrew for many, she is the dedicated and much-loved mother of nine children and grandchildren.
Due to family commitments Suzanne chose to pursue an Art career after her youngest child began school, by studying a Bachelor Degree of Contemporary Arts/Visual Arts in 2015 at Deakin University, Waurn Ponds.
Suzanne is an emerging artist practicing in a range of different mediums, such as weaving, clay, painting, poetry and wood burning with a strong emphasis for learning traditional styles of weaving. She became inspired by her mother’s artistic talent and her ability to create work from what nature could provide.
She engages with other Aboriginal artist participating in workshops and learning and sharing her proud culture with others.
