‘I learnt from old people, they taught us at school, and culture too. Then I started carving in the early

Thomas Munkanome began carving in the early 80’s along side many of the most well-known and
respected Tiwi carvers. As an exacting craftsman, Thomas’ carvings are sort after by major Australian
Galleries and international clients.
