Ngukurr Arts Centre is a unique place where artists explore, share and develop their own distinctive and personal styles.
Situated alongside the banks of the Roper River in South East Arnhem Land, the community of Ngukurr has become a gathering place for many different language groups including Ngalakgan, Alawa, Mangarrayi, Ngandi, Marra, Warndarrang, Nunggubuyu, Ritharrngu-Wagilak and Rembarrnga. Collectively, the language groups are known as Yugul Mangi (all together as one) and their diversity as people is reflective of their art.
Not afraid of experimentation and bold colour, Ngukurr artists merge traditional knowledge and ancient dreaming with modern tales of community life.
Ngukurr Arts has been operating since 2008.
