Have you ever gazed at the beautifully crafted weaving work from Milingimbi and wished you could wear it? Here’s your chance: Margaret Gamuti, one of our senior artists, has been inspired by the current interest in Indigenous textiles and clothing design and worked long hours to produce this striking hat. Hand twined from locally harvested gunga (pandanus) and dyed with colours derived from the roots and leaves of native plants; this is fashion at its most sustainable. Is a snug fit on a head that usually wears a 57cm hat.
